Congrats to Caronport on a great effect. A big thumbs up for Oxbow who takes home gold! Thanks for coming to our blog. It has been a pleasure.

If I I die young, you can lay me down on a bed of roses and such but it is not something that will affect me too much. It is times like this, good times with friends watching volleyball while sipping back a couple of gatorades that will be etched into my memories forever. After all, is there really any other way to spend a good Saturday night?? I don't think so and if there is nobody has shown me! Sure wouldn't we all like to win provincial volleyball, but isn't it the time in between games that really matters?
Wouldn't you rather lose and get closer with some quality buds than win and lose friends due to competitiveness? This is going to be my second last blog and it has been a real pleasure. You guys are the apple to my eye and the strawberry to my pie. It is delicious pie by the way.
Keep holding on.

My ears are ringing. It's is like there's a phone ringing and every time I try to answer it I can't find it. Crazy pace to the volleyball. The final will be between Caronport and Oxbow. Can't wait to watch it! I have no witty comments or puns to make because it's time to get serious. It is time... to go for gold.

The McLurg Broncos have been eliminated by Rossignol. On one hand I feel sad and sorry for Wilkie. It sucks that the host is out this early but they were under a lot of pressure and under the circumstances they did well. That being said I really enjoyed the play of the opposing Huskies. They ran lots of creative plays and were lead by their big 2 hitters. Every time Willkie started to shut the door on them they shoved their foot in the way and said, "Not today." Other than the obvious favorites (Oxbow), I think that Rossignol could be the team to beat!

In this edition of Out of the Woodwork, we will be taking about emotions. Well it will be more of me talking and you listening but it all works out in the end. We are close to starting playoff for the provincial title. To me this is where the real tournament begins. It's a little about skill and a lot about heart. How bad do you want it? That is a question that we will answer soon. I expect lots of cheers and maybe even a few tears. It shall be like a roller coaster. Yes there will be highs, lows, twists and turns but the end result will leave some people green in the face and some people screaming for more.
Thanks for listening.

I officially know what the saying "home field advantage" means! Crazy support for the home team right now. It's like 43 to 45 elephants stampeding after every point. Either that or 2 mid-sized fighter jets. I'm not quite sure which would get the point across better but you get the picture.

Nothing like an early morning blog to get the juices flowing. Good thing the players are more awake than I am. I should probably say something inspirational like this is the start of the rest of their lives but it's kind of early and I feel like that time will come later in the day. What kind of a deal is this? My colleagues are munching on some breakfast and I'm blogging up storm. How does that work? Its ok I like keeping it fresh.
Have a good morning.

I have a question for you dedicated followers. If you had the choice between 2 dollars and 1 dollar, what would you pick? How bout 2 apples or 1? To quote the band Boys Like Girls, "2 is better than 1." Ladies and gentlemen I am pleased to inform you that during tomorrows coverage in McLurg we will be showing you not 1, but 2 camera angles! Simply extraordinary! You're welcome. What's that? You didn't say thank you? You will.

Taco salad. It is chips, lettuce, beef and cheese all smushed together into one big bag of excellence. My sincerest thank you to the booth workers at McLurg for making my day just that little bit brighter. Amazing how food just gets the creative juices flowing like a river of ideas draining towards a waterfall. This is the waterfall ladies and gentlemen. You folks are the start of the new river. Congratulations.
Fulfill your dreams.

So far the provincials have been great. I'm seeing a lot of spirit not only from the guys on the court but from the people in the stands as well. Wilkie has been a great host so far. They have provided some great facilities and superb food. Class A job Wilkie. Well done.

I just watched the grade 9 team from Jonas Sampson fight hard but lose both sets to the bigger and older Caronport Cougars. I don't care how they do the rest of the weekend I think it is great to see those young guys play hard and learn. What a great experience.
Talk to you later.

Provincial Volleyball Day 1
Out of the Woodwork with Justin Wood
My name is Justin Wood. I am a member of the UCHS journalism 20 class. Today I'll be providing you with some news and opinions about what's happening around the 4a boys provincial volleyball.
So far the day has consisted of running around slightly panicked while trying to learn how to use new technology. It could be a long day... On the other hand everyone seems optimistic and were all looking forward to a good day of volleyball. Good luck to all the teams, coaches and fans who will be watching.
Ta Ta for now.
